Super maestra

I have become adept

at eating while working

and working while talking

and holding my pee.

 

I can watch what’s behind me,

listen to recess complaints,

write as I talk and

walk backwards to gym.

 

I can send silent signals,

track student progress,

turn frowns upside down

and get all kids to sing.

 

Today was a day

that required super powers,

a calm exterior to soothe

the whirlwind within.
